Golf and Get Fit

 Many of us don't think of golf as exercise, and I suppose if you choose to rent a cart, throw a cooler of drinks on the back and stop at the turn to buy a hot dog, it probably isn't.

However, if you walk the course, and carry your clubs, you will be burning countless calories, not to mention working out a variety of muscles. Keep in mind that you are not only walking which is great for cardio health, golf courses also work your muscles. In the average backswing you use the shoulder, chest, forearm, stomach, hips and buttocks. In the downswing you put your upper back, obliques, abs and thighs to work. With follow through your lower leg muscles and trunk feel the burn too.


Golf is great for conditioning and pleasurable to participate in. Spring is here and the opportunity to get out on a golf courses is in full swing!
